According to industry experts, overseas buyers are set to spend over £2bn on London retail property this year. The report, published by commercial real estate services firm CBRE, shows that buyers have already spent £1bn on central London retail property in the first half of the year. Head of UK retail at CBRE, Phil Cann, said: “I think there is every chance [of a record] this year. Given the amount of bidding activity we have seen, there is still a significant amount of equity tracking London retail and it shows that buyers are still very happy with the London story”.
